Child Labour is a problem in many lower economically developed countries. Children do not go to school, and only work as labourers. Even if they do go to school and work at the same time, their concentration and productivity is extremely low. An example of a material that thousands of child labourers work for is the Mica mines. Mica is a group of 37 minerals that ads shine, and is used in items such as cosmetics, car paint, electronics, etc. About 22,000 children have been found working in the mica mines in Jharkand, India. These children climb down the mining holes and hammer, shovel and hand-pick the sharp mica material. These children earn 40 cents per kilogram whereas the highest quality mica is being sold for $2,000 per kilogram. Overall, child labour jeopardizes their future and they do not have access to proper healthcare, education or even basic necessities of life.
